Julie’s career in education has navigated between traditional education settings and the business world. Starting in Human Resources, Julie honed her ability to keep humans at the center of challenging conversations. Julie’s tenure as a high school World Language teacher refined her skills in learning design, and revealed some latent creativity and a true love of learners and language. Julie discovered a passion for working with adult learners and a keen interest in navigating change as a building administrator at both the middle and upper elementary school levels. This led her to found a consulting business focused on equipping educational leaders with crucial skills for change, such as adaptability, a learner mindset, and leading with curiosity. She successfully expanded her business nationally before joining the ALP team full-time at the onset of the pandemic.
Regardless of where Julie’s consulting travels take her, she remains committed to learning from and contributing to the education profession in her own backyard. Julie serves as a regional evaluator for the CT State Department of Education’s Alternate Route to Certification Program, which provides accelerated pathways to teacher certification for qualified professionals working in other industries.
When Julie isn’t reading about AI or leadership, you will likely find her fangirling with her husband at one of their daughter’s sporting events or musical performances or finding solace and inspiration while hiking in the woods.
