Competency Modeling
ALP combines a thorough review of district strategy, vision, and values with one-on-one interviews and subject matter expert focus groups into a validated competency model.
Competency model development is customized for various positions within a district and aligns job functions with the district vision. ALP facilitates a process where role incumbents and supervisors translate organizational vision into behaviorally-anchored and observable competency descriptions with corresponding proficiency progressions.
ALP’s approach integrates a scientific validation process to design the competency model. This foundation can then be leveraged to build a common language across role incumbents and their supervisors as well as develop related human resources systems (e.g., selection processes, orientation/mentoring, performance and talent development, etc.) aligned with district vision.

Program Impact
To demonstrate program impact, leaders must have a plan for gathering and analyzing data. Whether implementing a district-wide program or piloting new practices with a small group, ALP consultants, trained in program evaluation and data analytics, will collaborate with district staff to collect, analyze, and interpret program data. The resulting Program Impact Plan will break down clear paths to gather, analyze, and leverage data to inform ongoing implementation decisions (timelines, strategy, tactics). ALP’s interactive data dashboards and reporting will demonstrate the program’s impact in real terms for all stakeholders.

| .. | Partner Highlight ALP partnered with Sumter School District (SC) to enhance their data-informed coaching process. We established a robust evaluation infrastructure by digitalizing their existing paper-based tracking system into our secure Qualtrics platform to streamline data collection. This process involved developing new, research-backed instruments, including measures of coach competencies for self-reflection and teacher ratings of coach effectiveness and practice. To support monitoring and decision-making, we developed interactive data dashboards for district staff and provided annual impact reporting. Reporting included statistical analysis to demonstrate pre-post effect of the coaching program on student outcomes throughout the year. |
