ALP GenAI Community of Practice

GenAI Community of Practice Goals
In close partnership with leaders from over 100 U.S. and Canadian districts, ALP facilitates an innovative networking teams model to realize the following outcomes:

 

  • Access to GenAI subject matter expertise. School and division leaders engage in high-interest, timely topics related to Generative Artificial Intelligence (GenAI) with subject matter experts to inform a systems approach to GenAI in their districts.
  • Cultivation of a Network of Practitioners. Participants engage in an emerging community of practice that leverages shared resources, expertise, and learning to navigate challenges and opportunities relative to GenAI.

COP Session 1: AI and Accessibility

ALP GenAI Cohort

An AI generated image about AI processes.Advanced Learning Partnerships engaged a cohort of 18-20 school districts from across North America around the systemic integration of Generative AI and Large Language Models at scale. Together, beginning in the fall of 2023, our team of SMEs and ALP consultants worked alongside district leaders in service of two outcomes:

  • Building Awareness and Competency on the Possibilities and Risks of Generative AI
  • Planning for a Year of Learning and Beyond

Cohort Session 1:

Gretchen Shipley and her firm F3 Law helped develop the National Student Data Privacy Agreement and have been supporting school districts with policy as they transition to Generative AI.  Session 1 Recording

Cohort Session 2:

District Leaders from Plymouth Canton Community Schools, Henrico County Public Schools, and Fairfax County Public Schools shared their plans for the integration of GenAI into their work with stakeholders, policy, and infrastructure. Session 2 Recording
