SUMMARY:Canadian K-12 AI Leadership Summit 2027: Leading for human flourishing in the age of AI
DESCRIPTION:January 28-29\, 2027 | Surrey\, British Columbia\nStudent Summit: January 27\nNo registration fee\nAfter a successful 2025 Summit that included representation from 6 provinces and 1 territory\, over 50 districts and 170 attendees we are excited for another opportunity to learn and connect. \n \nAI is already changing how students learn\, how educators work\, and how school systems make decisions. Efficiency matters\, but it is not an adequate measure of success. The more important question is whether these changes help people and communities thrive. \nOver two days\, participants will examine: \n\nHow AI is affecting workload\, professional judgement\, relationships\, and student well-being\nWhat districts can do now to capture benefits without overlooking emerging harms\nHow student and Indigenous perspectives should shape system decisions\nWhat meaningful indicators of well-being and responsible AI use might look like\nHow to move from scattered experimentation to a coherent district approach\n\nSummit at a glance\n \nThere is no registration fee. Thanks to our partners and sponsors\, participants are responsible only for their travel and accommodations. \nAccommodations\nBelow are several hotel options located in both Surrey – conveniently located within a short commute to the Summit Resource & Education Centre\, and in downtown Vancouver – vibrant\, city location with a 35-45 minute commute to the Surrey Summit. \nSurrey:\nThe Civic Hotel\nSheraton Guildford Hotel\nHampton Inn & Suites by Hilton Langley-Surrey\nHoliday Inn & Suites Surrey East – Cloverdale \nDowntown Vancouver:\nSheraton Vancouver Wall Centre\nHilton Vancouver Downtown\nFairmont Hotel Vancouver\nFairmont Waterfront \nSpeaker announcements and the detailed program will be added as they are confirmed.
