About Allison

Allison Reid, an accomplished educator and CETL certified technology leader, holds an MEd in Instructional Technology from NC State University.

She serves as the Senior Director for Digital Learning & Libraries in Wake County Public School System, driving innovation in digital tools. With her unique blend of teaching and tech expertise, Allison ensures administrative policies positively impact student outcomes, fostering dynamic and inclusive learning environments. She is a contributor to CoSN’s Digital Equity Toolkit, and is a member of their K-12 Driving Innovation Advisory Board. Allison is passionate about empowering learners through innovative digital tools, with a proven track record of driving impactful changes in public education. Her commitment to equitable access to technology stems from a belief in its power to level the playing field for all students. Outside of consulting, she enjoys exploring the outdoors with her family, reading, or traveling.

As a former English teacher, Allison values literature that shifts perspectives. Inspired by Thoreau’s call to “Simplify, simplify,” she focuses on distilling complex educational challenges into clear priorities, helping to move critical work forward effectively.
