About Ken
Ken Halla has worked in education for three decades with the perpetual quest to find a more equitable way for all students to reach mastery.
He began his career in Loudoun County, VA before moving to Fairfax County where he has been a social studies teacher, Advanced Placement Coordinator, Department Chair and the leader of FCPS’s virtual school. Ken loves working with teams of people be they school leaders, students, teachers or parents to help improve the lives of our youth. He has 25 years integrating educational technology into the classroom. More specifically, for almost a decade he has been involved working with teams of teachers to develop virtual courses for both the asynchronous and synchronous components. His most recent work has been as a member of the “AI innovator” team working to integrate Artificial Intelligence into both schools and central offices.
Ken and his wife Debbie are parents to two daughters and recent college graduates, who are living in Taiwan and NYC and a son who is attending college in Charlottesville. Ken’s favorite passions include running and reading.
