About Tony
“Pay attention. Be astonished. Tell about it.” — Mary Oliver, Instructions for Living a Life
Tony is an educator on a mission to cultivate teams of learners & learning by investing in people, bringing shape to ideas, and seeking always to understand.
As a member of the ALP team, he stands alongside brave district team members on their respective learning journeys, designing new and engaging educational landscapes that make the most out of all of the resources available to them.
The accomplishments that fill him with the most pride involve teaming with learners of all ages- students, teachers, coaches, and administrators alike. These experiences include collaborative design and collective implementation of district-wide learner profiles and learning models, concept-centered curriculum, standards-based assessment, performance assessment, learner-centered ecosystems, and instructional coaching, among others.
When he isn’t partnering with schools to amplify student-driven learning, you can find Tony “digging in the crates” in local record stores throughout the country, engaging in a number of musical performance projects across central Virginia, or appreciating with awe the natural beauty of the world in which we live.
