Advanced Learning Partnerships is delighted to welcome Ronique Hicks as our new Director for Professional Learning. Ronique is not new to ALP, as she has been part of our consulting staff for over five years. We couldn’t be more excited about the opportunity to leverage her experiences to strengthen our leadership team.
We’ve invited Ronique to share a little about herself.
As an accomplished educator, what are some of your most proud moments?
As I reflect on my journey as an educator, I am proud that I have been afforded many opportunities to leave an imprint on the lives of my fellow educators and students in the United States and abroad. Through countless interactions I have been able to plant seeds and share in their growth through teaching new skills, sharing innovative ideas, reaffirming dreams and goals, or sparking a vision. I was also given the chance to inspire creativity and provide practical use scenarios using cloud based applications through a book I co-authored with a very good friend and mentor, James Lerman. I am honored and forever grateful for every experience and door that continues to open for me and recognize that if the many people whom I respect and love had not done the same for me I would not be where I am or who I am today.
Why did you come to ALP?
ALP is a leading provider of highly responsive, relevant, and innovative professional learning solutions. As a former consultant, I know first hand that ALP is an organization that is passionate and committed to working with educational partners seeking deep, systemic change empowering educators to improve teaching practice that promotes active and engaging learning experiences for all students.
I am very thankful and humbled for this opportunity to become a member of the ALP family comprised of such a talented group of educational leaders. I look forward to contributing in meaningful ways to support the vision and increasing the impact of our work.
What risks are you looking forward to taking with us?
I truly believe ALP is destined and positioned to expand its reach to educators from coast to coast and globally. Working alongside this incredible team, I am fully committed to strategically supporting that growth, deliberately preserving ALP’s core values and mission to being an agent of change, inspiring, empowering, and amplifying learning for all learners.
Ronique’s personal story aligns tightly with the ALP core story and we have already been influenced by her approach to the work. By observing how she listens to our coaching cadre and expresses a genuine respect for our colleagues, it is evident that she is going to help us take professional learning to a new level. We are excited to learn and grow alongside her. Thank you for joining us and embracing change with us on our journey, Ronique.
